REPORTS FOR THIS WEEK

Important News!
A week ago the Central Valley Flood Control Board, of which the
California TU Director Brian Johnson is a member, voted unanimously to allow the Army Corps of Engineers to remove all of the trees and understory along the river between Sac State and Mayhew (near Bradshaw) for the purpose of levee improvements.  That's 4 miles of fish and wildlife habit will be completely lost and it will take twenty years for the riparian strip to recover. If you are as devastated as I am about this project it's important to let Brian Johnson know how you feel about his vote.  Here is his email: bjohnson@tu.org

The latest on the YUBA RIVER access!
For those of you Yuba River fishermen who have been lamenting the closure of public access, we have been lucky to come into posession of a complete explanation of the access opportunities that are available, both public and private  (hint-you will be surprised at how much public access there actually is). Go to our Lower Yuba page for a link that will explain it all.

If you happen to get out and fish this week, how about letting us know how you did on our California Fly Fishing Reports Group-Forum

About our weekly fishing reports . . .
The California Fly Fishing Reports page is updated continually. As soon as we receive a new varifiable report on a particular water we now post it immediately.  Our reports are derived from both phone calls and the web pages of local guide and fly shop partners*. Whenever we are using one of those sources we always will give credit to the individual who contributed the information and we will also provide a link to their website.  Contrary to what some may believe, it's in the best interest of our partners to give an accurate report, whether it be either good or bad.  No guide or fly shop want's a potential customer to be misled as their credibility is most important when operating an outfitting business.

The date shown at the top of each page indicates the last time we added an update for that water.  Keep in mind that water flows that are shown on each page only reflect the flow on the day the report was edited, however if you scroll down  you will find a link for up to the minute conditions.

* We are indebted to our partners that include, The Fly Shop in Redding, Ted Fay Fly Shop, Trout Creek Outfitters, Tahoe Fly Fishing Outfitters and The Troutfitter for contributing to
our reports.  Guides who regularly contribute  are Joe Vasquez, Andy Guibord, Richard Loft, Otis Hein, Joe Garza, Liz Weirauch and others.  Note: if you are a guide or shop owner and would like to contribute (and receive a free link to your website) please call us or email your report. Make sure you email your website link too.
